PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — St. Pete Pride, the organization behind the region’s largest LGBTQ+ Pride celebration, is asking for help paying off this year’s event so it can look ahead to 2027.

“We need to raise at least $289,000 by November 30 to pay the remaining expenses from this year’s Pride and move forward responsibly with our 25th anniversary in 2027,” organizers wrote Monday on social media.

A letter from Trent Brock, who was announced as St. Pete Pride’s new president last month, cited higher expenses for putting on the event and lack of sponsorship funds. He said some companies reduced their support, while others pulled out of the event entirely.

He said the organization started the year still paying off expenses from the 2025 event, which “has been occurring for several years.”

“We can’t continue operating this way,” Brock wrote. “Going forward, we need to finish each Pride season financially before producing the next. We need to break this cycle and begin our next chapter with a $0 balance.”

Next year’s 25th anniversary event could be at risk if the funds aren’t raised, Brock said.

Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
