{"id":420589,"date":"2026-10-06T21:10:40","date_gmt":"2026-10-06T21:10:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/420589\/"},"modified":"2026-10-06T21:10:40","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T21:10:40","slug":"man-being-held-in-pinellas-jail-dies-in-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/420589\/","title":{"rendered":"Man being held in Pinellas jail dies in hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">A man being held in the Pinellas County Jail died Monday, four days after he was hospitalized after experiencing a \u201cmedical emergency,\u201d deputies said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">James Christopher Gosselin, who turned 60 on Saturday, was taken to a hospital Oct. 1 after deputies found him experiencing \u201ca medical emergency\u201d at the jail, according to a news release from the Pinellas County Sheriff\u2019s Office. Gosselin remained in the hospital until he was pronounced dead shortly before 4 p.m. Monday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Gosselin had several preexisting conditions at the time of his arrest, and detectives have found no evidence that he suffered any injuries at the jail that may have contributed to his death, according to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Gosselin was booked into the jail, at 14400 49th St. N. in Clearwater, on Aug. 12 on charges of burglary, exposure of sexual organs and resisting arrest without violence.
