ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. \u2013 An undercover sting led to a Lakeland man\u2019s arrest at Walt Disney World after he sent explicit images to a detective posing as a 13-year-old boy on Snapchat, the Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n
According to the affidavit, an undercover deputy was operating a Snapchat account in August 2026 when a user identified as \u201cmadmax17245\u201d made contact. The user identified himself as a 37-year-old male in the Orlando area. The deputy responded, identifying himself as a 13-year-old boy.<\/p>\n
The affidavit states Michael Byrne sent an explicit image and three videos before asking the undercover deputy for images in return. Investigators later linked the account to Byrne.<\/p>\n
When detectives made contact with Byrne at a Central Florida address, he acknowledged the Snapchat account was his, but told investigators he did not know he was communicating with a 13-year-old.<\/p>\n
The address where Byrne was arrested \u2014 751 Backstage Lane \u2014 is associated with Walt Disney World\u2019s backstage area. Disney has not responded to News 6 regarding whether Byrne is an employee or how he may have had access to that location.<\/p>\n
Byrne was charged with solicitation of a minor via computer, transmission of harmful material to minors, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.<\/p>\n
Byrne was transported to the Orange County Jail following his arrest. He was held without bond on the solicitation and transmission charges.<\/p>\n
