(WCTV) &#8211; Chris Prescott got a front row seat and a standing ovation at a candidate forum this week. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She\u2019s been voting longer than many of us have been alive. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThis will be my 80th voting year because I voted first in 1946 when I was 21 and I\u2019m 101 now and that\u2019s 80 years,\u201d Prescott said with a smile. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Prescott attended a candidate forum at St. Paul\u2019s United Methodist Church Tuesday with a sign in her lap that read \u201cMiss Chris Voting for 80 Years!\u201d <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Chris Prescott has been voting since 1946.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/GHSGXQA6PRFHVEXF2T2LG7XTB4.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Chris Prescott has been voting since 1946.(WCTV)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIf you don\u2019t go and vote, you don\u2019t have a right to complain about who\u2019s in. If I go and vote, I can complain because I went and voted,\u201d Prescott said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Prescott had a chance to meet several candidates &#8211; for city, county and state seats &#8211; face to face at a forum hosted by the Leon Wakulla Retired Educators Association. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-center\">More Tallahassee news:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She said she plans to cast her ballot in the midterm elections as soon as early voting starts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIn fact, I already told my grandson &#8230; I said you\u2019re taking me there so I can vote early,\u201d Prescott said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The 101-year-old shook hands and took pictures as candidates gathered around her. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Chris Prescott had a chance to meet many of the candidates face to face.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/TYHXJZKBZ5CLVM3HIT4SJK3SCE.JPG\" width=\"980\" height=\"1306\" \/>Chris Prescott had a chance to meet many of the candidates face to face.(WCTV)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cDon\u2019t miss an election,\u201d Prescott said when asked if she had any advice to share. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Prescott also urged candidates to avoid the mudslinging and negativity that are so pervasive in politics now. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI despise somebody downgrading their opponent.
