Students from Primrose School at Avalon Park in Orlando raised nearly $3,000 during a week-long fundraiser to support early education for children in underserved communities. <\/p>\n

“Each month we focus on a different character development trait,” said Keiana McCluster, director of Primrose School at Avalon Park. <\/p>\n

For their “Generosity Month,” the school organized activities including themed dress-up days, science experiments using sweets, and hands-on lessons about giving back. <\/p>\n

“We decided to bridge the gap at the end of it to do something nice for our community,” McCluster said. <\/p>\n

The week culminated in the Sugar Rush Run-a-thon, where students from the Avalon Park campus and a Lake Nona campus collected pledges from family members and neighbors for a dollar for every lap they ran. The goal was ten laps, and the students succeeded. <\/p>\n

“They did! 100% of the students, our little ones, raised over $2,900 to be able to donate to other students in our community,” McCluster said.<\/p>\n

The funds raised will be distributed by the Primrose Schools Partnership for Children, the preschool\u2019s charity arm dedicated to providing early education opportunities for children in underserved communities. Some of the money has already been donated to the West Lakes Early Learning Center near Camping World Stadium, a flagship project in a historic Orlando community. <\/p>\n

“At Primrose, we believe children are never too young to learn the importance of giving back,” said Seema Naik, franchise owner of Primrose School at Avalon Park. <\/p>\n

Naik emphasized the importance of character development. “Success is not just about what you achieve; it\u2019s about the kind of person you become, and giving back, being kind, being a good leader is important as well,” she said. <\/p>\n

McCluster noted the lasting excitement among the students, saying, “They\u2019re still talking about it until today. They come in every day. Do you remember the fun run?”<\/p>\n
