PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 Port St. Lucie police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who was found unconscious and bleeding heavily in the middle of a roadway early Friday morning.<\/p>\n

According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department,<\/a> passing motorists discovered the man at about 1 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest University Boulevard and Northwest California Boulevard.<\/p>\n

Police said the man was unconscious and suffering from severe head trauma and significant bleeding. He was taken to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital<\/a>, where he remains in critical condition.<\/p>\n

Investigators described the man as white and believed to be middle-aged or older. He had no identification on him when he was found.<\/p>\n

Police said investigators learned the man is known to walk in the area during overnight hours.<\/p>\n

The man was last seen wearing:<\/p>\n

A green, blue and white T-shirt.Black shorts.Multicolored Brooks athletic shoes, primarily blue, green and black.A gray Adidas baseball cap.Wiley X sunglasses.A pink umbrella with a black handle.<\/p>\n

Police said the man does not appear to have any noticeable scars, marks or tattoos.<\/p>\n

The Port St. Lucie Police Department is asking anyone who recognizes the description to come forward in hopes of identifying the man and notifying his loved ones.<\/p>\n

Investigators are also seeking witnesses and anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage from the area that could help determine what happened.<\/p>\n
