(WINK) \u2014 Mikael Alejandro Blanc Stewart was found guilty of fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer and two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon for a 2024 robbery at a Cape Coral arcade, according to a press release from the State Attorney&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mt-3 overflow-auto whitespace-pre-wrap break-words text-sm\">Assistant State Attorneys Melanie Sanders and Jacob Wetter prosecuted the case. He drove around the arcade three times before stopping to let his co-defendant out of the vehicle to rob the business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mt-3 overflow-auto whitespace-pre-wrap break-words text-sm\">The co-defendant then jumped back in the car after the robbery and Stewart drove off, according to the press release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mt-3 overflow-auto whitespace-pre-wrap break-words text-sm\">Cape Coral Police arrived on scene in minutes and saw the vehicle victims had described to 911. Police attempted a traffic stop, but Stewart fled, veering off the road multiple times, going into oncoming traffic, running stop signs and reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph to avoid getting caught.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mt-3 overflow-auto whitespace-pre-wrap break-words text-sm\">Stewart eventually crashed the vehicle and was arrested. The co-defendant in this case, Jailyn Tyreek Thomas, was sentenced in January.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mt-3 overflow-auto whitespace-pre-wrap break-words text-sm\">Stewart was already sentenced to life in prison in January on a violation of probation for a different case due to this crime, according to the press release.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FORT MYERS, Fla.
