Griffin Neuroscience Institute. Griffin’s original $50 million donation in 2024 was the largest single gift in Baptist Health’s nearly 65-year history. The 197,000-square-foot facility at Baptist Hospital off Kendall Drive is scheduled to open in early 2029. It will focus on care and research for dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease.Bo Boulenger, president and CEO of Baptist Health, said Griffin’s generosity will help accelerate research, educate future neuroscience leaders and expand access to specialized brain and spine care. The institute expects to add 16 subspecialty providers, expand clinical trial opportunities and house outpatient therapy, rehabilitation and neuro infusion services, along with Baptist Health’s first academic lecture theater. The donation follows Griffin’s $3 billion pledge to Carnegie Mellon University days earlier to help bring a campus to Wynwood — believed to be the largest gift by a single individual in U.S. higher education history. <img decoding="async" class="responsive-image" loading="lazy" src="https://www.newsbeep.com/us-fl/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/1791626646_785_YH1_2996.jpg" width="1200" height="800" title="YH1_2996.jpg" alt="A groundbreaking ceremony for the Baptist Health Kenneth C.
