It is on the wrong track where it counts for residents, because City Hall is stuck in conflict.

Too many major items die 3-3. Parking at the beach, contracts the city needs to fix roads and infrastructure, and basic follow-through get delayed while people live with traffic, drainage problems, and rising costs. A city can attract investment and still fail its neighborhoods if the Commission cannot make a decision and live with it.

I want Pompano on a track where the Commission does the homework, works with staff, protects core services, and measures success by whether daily life gets better. Growth that the roads, parking, drainage, and public safety can support is progress. Gridlock dressed up as oversight is not.

If you are elected or re-elected, would you support or oppose the retention of City Manager Greg Harrison, and why?
I would support retaining Greg Harrison, subject to performance.

The city manager works for the whole Commission, not one faction. From what I have seen, Harrison has kept the organization running through clean audits, major infrastructure work, and a period of political fighting that would have broken a weaker administration. Residents and employees have said publicly that he is professional. That matters.

Retention is not a blank check. I would expect regular communication with every commissioner, clear numbers on big projects, and a manager who brings options before a vote, not after a deadlock. I will not use the manager’s office as a political weapon. If the Commission wants better results, it has to stop treating staff as the enemy.

Does Pompano have a problem with overdevelopment, yes or no, and why?
Yes, where intensity is outrunning infrastructure.

I am not against building. Property owners have rights when they follow the code. Some tired sites should be rebuilt. The problem is extra height, extra units, and special treatment that dump traffic, parking demand, and service costs onto people who already live here.

I will not promise a moratorium I cannot legally keep. I will not rubber-stamp a project because it photographs well. If the roads, drainage, parking, police, fire, and EMS cannot handle it, I will vote no. Redevelopment should strengthen Pompano, not price out the families who made it home.

List in order of importance the three most important issues in your district and briefly explain what you would do about each.
Public safety. Meet regularly with BSO and Fire-Rescue on response times, equipment, and neighborhood problems. Keep public-safety funding first if revenue drops.

Infrastructure and mobility. Push paving, drainage, sidewalks, and beach parking as core work, not leftovers. Demand traffic and flooding analysis before adding intensity. Residents should hear about street changes before they wake up to them.

Affordability and neighborhood quality of life. Support local businesses, keep permitting from becoming a maze, and stop treating extra density as automatic. New tax base must be a balance of residential and other uses that makes financial sense.

Do you support or oppose Amendment 3, and why?
I support making homestead property more affordable. I oppose pretending there is no local cost.

Amendment 3 would raise the non-school homestead exemption on a schedule, cap non-homestead assessment growth more tightly, and restrict how cities can use remaining property-tax dollars. Homeowners feel insurance, HOA fees, and valuations. They also expect police, fire, EMS, water, and roads.

Pompano staff have already flagged a serious revenue hit if this passes. My job, if elected, is to protect core services first, cut nonessential spending first, and tell residents the truth about tradeoffs. I will not campaign as if a constitutional change is free. I also will not dismiss families asking for relief.

Do you generally support or oppose the planned “new downtown,” and why?
I generally support a stronger downtown. I oppose a blank check.

Where the future downtown will sit should not stay a collection of tired lots. It’s important revitalization for the NW district and is long overdue. A walkable center with businesses, public space, and parking can help the whole city. What I will not support is approving numbers we cannot defend, skipping the financing homework, or asking residents to absorb extra cost because the politics got ahead of the math.

Public dollars have to show a public return. Parking has to be real. The process has to be public. I have asked for actual figures before, and I will keep doing that. Revitalization yes. Reckless yes-votes no.

Can you cite a program or service in your city that in your opinion is wasteful or unnecessary?
The most expensive waste in Pompano right now is delay.

When the Commission deadlocks on contracts the city uses to design and fix roads, lights, and infrastructure, work stops and costs rise. When a commissioner floats a dog park on beach pavilion space or a parking idea staff has already said will not work on the barrier island, staff time gets burned explaining reality after the post goes up.

I am also skeptical of making a new City Hall a top-tier capital project while insurance, drainage, water systems, and beach parking are unresolved. Fix the systems residents use every day first. Consultants and renderings are not a substitute for that.

Do you support or oppose the use of surveillance cameras known as LPRs or license plate readers in your city, and what changes would you support?
Immediately end the use of LPRs and Flock-type cameras until serious privacy concerns are addressed. We need to address the privacy concerns and work with our public safety professionals. If they are unwanted and unneeded, take them down.

Like all cities and counties, Pompano Beach must comply with a new state law (SB 1134) that prohibits funding or promoting diversity, equity and inclusion policies. Do you support or oppose this law and what impact will it have?
I will comply with it. The city does not get to ignore state law.

I support hiring and contracting on merit and serving every resident equally. Government should not run political programming out of City Hall. SB 1134 takes effect in 2027 and bars cities from funding or promoting DEI offices and policies. The practical impact is that Pompano should review titles, grants, boards, and event language and keep what is lawful and useful.

This should not become a months-long fight that distracts from drainage, parking and public safety. Follow the law. Treat people fairly. Get back to the work.

What factor most distinguishes you from your opponent(s) and why?
Preparation and temperament.

I have managed large budgets, led big teams, and had to produce results in business. I live in District 1, raised my daughters here, and work with residents every day. I do the homework before I talk.

My opponent has a record of absences from city meetings, leaving early from city meetings and events, conflict, late ideas, and votes that stalled basic work, including beach parking. Oversight is the job. Turning every meeting into a scene is not. Pompano needs a commissioner who can work with colleagues and staff long enough to finish something.

List in reverse chronological order colleges or universities attended with years of attendance and degrees.
Master of Science, Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, graduated May 1999
Bachelor of Science in Psychology, University of Florida, Gainesville, graduated December 1994

List in reverse chronological order your work history for the past 15 years.
Broker/Owner, Soaring Real Estate, LLC, Pompano Beach, Nov. 2024–present

Broker Associate, Douglas Elliman, South Florida, Oct. 2020–Nov. 2024

SVP / Market President, Entercom Communication / CBS Radio, South Florida, Nov. 2017–Oct. 2020

Vice President of Sales, CBS Radio / Beasley Broadcast Group, South Florida, Apr. 2013–Nov. 2017

Have you ever been a party to a lawsuit, including bankruptcy or foreclosure? If so, provide charges, dates and terms of sentence.
No

Why should voters elect you instead of your opponent(s)?
Because District 1 is tired of noise.

I will show up prepared, keep public safety first, and vote on development based on infrastructure and the code, not a rendering or a guest list. I will work with the city manager and staff. I will tell residents what is coming before it hits their street.

This is a local job. It requires an adult who already lives with the consequences.
