JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 Police said they arrested a 32-year-old man for gunning down another man near a convenience store on Broward Road on Friday night.<\/p>\n
Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office said Keith Bernard Carter, Jr. is being held in Duval County Jail on second-degree murder charges for the shooting death near Interstate Center Dr.<\/p>\n
When police arrived in the early evening, they found the victim lying on the ground, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.\u2019<\/p>\n
On Saturday, detectives arrested Carter for the murder and for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.<\/p>\n
Duval County Court records show a previous conviction of Carter for attempted murder in 2014. A charge of battery in a detention facility in 2015 was dropped.<\/p>\n
