JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A car crashed into the Zinke Hair Studio on Town Center Parkway at the St. Johns Town Center on Saturday, pinning two people and shocking onlookers.

Images show the black BMW resting completely inside the salon, trapping Stephen Gotham Jr. and his wife, Aubrey Simpson Gotham, who were checking out after getting haircuts.

Both were taken to the hospital, where they were treated for lacerations and rib, neck and knee pain before being released, they said.

“I was pinned between the front of the car and the reception desk,” said Stephen Gotham. ” I couldn’t move, and I had to yell at the lady [driver] to back up in order to just be able to get unpinned from between the car and the wall.”

Gotham said someone else helped free his wife as he was struggling to get back on his feet.

“I believe this was just a miracle [that we weren’t injured more seriously],” Aubrey Simpson Gotham said.

Stephen Gotham has yet to receive a police report of the accident, and the couple still doesn’t know why the driver plowed into the store.

“It was extremely frightening, traumatic,” Aubrey Simpson Gotham said. “We feel terrible for the Zink Hair Studio, as well, you know. They had significant damage to their business … It was just a horrible, horrible incident.”
