{"id":425701,"date":"2026-10-12T17:04:12","date_gmt":"2026-10-12T17:04:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/425701\/"},"modified":"2026-10-12T17:04:12","modified_gmt":"2026-10-12T17:04:12","slug":"south-florida-urban-search-and-rescue-task-forces-set-to-return-home-after-assisting-in-hurricane-isaias-relief-wsvn-7news-miami-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/425701\/","title":{"rendered":"South Florida Urban Search and Rescue task forces set to return home after assisting in Hurricane Isaias relief &#8211; WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MIAMI (WSVN) &#8211; The two South Florida Urban Search and Rescue teams that were <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/search-rescue-teams-hurricane-isaias\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">deployed to the Florida Panhandle for Hurricane Isaias<\/a> are on their way back to South Florida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Florida Task Force One and Two are expected to return from assisting crews in the aftermath of Hurricane Isaias sometime on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Florida Task Force One sent 88 members and four K-9 teams from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue trained for search-and-rescue and high-water operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Florida Task Force Two, led by City of Miami Fire Rescue, assisted in floodwater evacuations, searches and air missions in Pensacola. Members boarded four UH-60 Black Hawks and worked with the Florida Army National Guard to search damaged areas from above. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Isaias made landfall near Destin as a Category 2, Friday night, <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/us-world\/isaias-moves-north-into-appalachians-and-mid-atlantic-southern-california-battered-by-rachel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">leaving a stretch of destruction across the Gulf Coast<\/a>, as homes were shredded by inches of rain, debris and winds as high as 110 mph that even spawned tornadoes in some areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are going to submit a Disaster Declaration once we get the data from the counties,\u201d said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One woman was in her bedroom when she realized a tree had fallen on her house. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI got up. I couldn\u2019t see out of the window, and I started to panic a little bit, but eventually pulled myself together, called 911,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The storm\u2019s remnants also produced soaking rain along the Northeast on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
