TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A tree falling onto a home during Hurricane Isaias sparked a residential structure fire Thursday night on Cavalcade Trail, prompting a response from the Tallahassee Fire Department.<\/p>\n
TFD was dispatched at about 9:35 p.m. on Oct. 9 to the reported fire. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the eaves and flames extending through the roof, along with downed power lines near the residence.<\/p>\n
Crews deployed hose lines and made entry into the home, locating the fire along the side of the structure. Heavy rain and strong winds complicated suppression efforts, but firefighters were able to bring the fire under control.<\/p>\n
The homeowner was safely outside when crews arrived. Primary and secondary searches confirmed no one else was inside. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced resident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
Responding units included E7, E15, FM1, BC1, BC2, E2, T2, and Bradfordville Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
