TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –Construction is moving into the final phases at the City of Tallahassee\u2019s Southside Transit Center near the intersection of Orange Avenue and S. Meridian Street, with city officials reporting steady progress and several major milestones already completed.<\/p>\n
The primary structural steel and roof systems have been finished, and crews have installed six of the eight pantographic bus-charging arms along with associated electrical equipment.<\/p>\n
As work continues at the site, StarMetro is also asking residents to \u201cThink Transit\u201d as it begins planning for the 2027 Transit Development Plan.<\/p>\n
StarMetro updates its Transit Development Plan every five years and reviews it annually. The agency kicked off the planning process for the next update in Spring 2026. Preparing a Transit Development Plan is required for transit agencies that receive state funds, and the process is used to identify transit needs and project priorities anticipated over the next 10 years.<\/p>\n
