And investors are buying into the idea.<\/p>\n
Dapta, founded in Miami and now also operating out of Scottsdale, Arizona as well, announced today that it has raised $6 million in seed funding led by Chingona Ventures. Crew Capital, Broom Ventures. Cometa VC also participated alongside existing investors 500 Global and Fen Ventures.<\/p>\n
The round brings total funding to $7.4 million. Dapta\u2019s AI agent, Dapti, has surpassed 200,000 users, adding roughly 4,000 weekly. Revenue has doubled over the past six months, with this year\u2019s annual revenue expected to exceed $4 million.<\/p>\n
But the company\u2019s current success looks quite different from what Rojas originally set out to build.<\/p>\n
When Refresh Miami first covered Dapta<\/a>, the startup was developing no-code APIs for technical teams. The product attracted users, but few were willing to pay. Those who did were mostly sales and marketing professionals at small businesses.<\/p>\n \u201cSo we went with the market,\u201d Rojas [pictured above] told Refresh Miami.<\/p>\n Dapta pivoted toward a platform that lets nontechnical business owners create AI agents in minutes. These agents answer calls, qualify leads, and schedule appointments automatically.<\/p>\n \u201cThey don\u2019t have to think about what model to use, what\u2019s the latest tech from OpenAI or Anthropic,\u201d Rojas explained. \u201cThey just build it and it works for the business.\u201d<\/p>\n The company\u2019s sweet spot is traditional service businesses: law firms, insurance brokers, mortgage lenders, and home services providers. Subscriptions start at $99 monthly, with a free tier available.<\/p>\n \u2713<\/p>\n Check your inbox for a confirmation email.<\/p>\n Dapta has found particular traction among Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs, a market Rojas believes traditional technology providers have overlooked.<\/p>\n Originally from Colombia, Rojas founded the company after moving to Miami. Today, Dapta has around 90 South Florida customers, and Florida is its largest U.S. market.<\/p>\n Interestingly, much of its growth comes through social media. Dapta has amassed more than 400,000 followers by publishing educational AI content, turning TikTok videos and other posts into a customer acquisition channel.<\/p>\n Its customers include Miami Tech & Arts University, Orlando-based Nona Cleaning, and Denver-based Aether Mechanical. Larger companies, including Mercado Libre and Rappi, also use its technology.<\/p>\n According to Dapta\u2019s internal data, customers have seen their contact rates double.<\/p>\n \u201cSMBs are under enormous pressure to respond to leads instantly, and most simply don\u2019t have the staff to do it,\u201d Samara Hernandez, founding partner of Chingona Ventures, said in the company\u2019s funding announcement.<\/p>\n The new funding will support product development and expansion across the U.S. and Latin America.
