{"id":426845,"date":"2026-10-13T19:04:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-13T19:04:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/426845\/"},"modified":"2026-10-13T19:04:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-13T19:04:08","slug":"seaworlds-mako-temporarily-closed-following-deadly-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/426845\/","title":{"rendered":"SeaWorld\u2019s Mako temporarily closed following deadly incident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/seaworld.com\/orlando\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SeaWorld Orlando<\/a> has temporarily closed its hyper-coaster Mako, manufactured by the same company that designed the coaster Goliath at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sixflags.com\/overgeorgia\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Six Flags Over Georgia<\/a>, where a man fell to his death on Monday while riding the high-speed attraction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mynews13.com\/fl\/orlando\/news\/2026\/10\/12\/six-flags-park-death-police-.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PREVIOUS: Man falls to his death from Six Flags Over Georgia roller coaster<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bolliger &amp; Mabillard is a prominent Swiss company that has designed coasters all over the world, including several in Central Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Mako and Goliath share the same designation as a hyper-coaster because of their drop height at over 200 feet. They also share the same ride harness system, which is why SeaWorld shut down its popular thrill ride \u201cout of an abundance of caution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from the theme park, \u201cThe safety of our guests and team members is a top priority. Our safety staff and ride technicians strive to maintain and deliver attractions that our guests can enjoy with confidence.
