{"id":427575,"date":"2026-10-14T12:32:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T12:32:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/427575\/"},"modified":"2026-10-14T12:32:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T12:32:10","slug":"cape-coral-leaders-discuss-17-million-road-improvement-proposal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/427575\/","title":{"rendered":"Cape Coral leaders discuss $17 million road improvement proposal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gulfcoastnewsnow.com\/news-team\/72907159-d8fc-4d7c-b9b1-1e504a8884f1\" aria-label=\"Mercedes Martinez profile page\" class=\"css-15eikfp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1791981130_829_72907159-d8fc-4d7c-b9b1-1e504a8884f1_1734039495.jpg\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"Mercedes Martinez\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/a>CAPE CORAL, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">Cape Coral leaders are considering a $17 million proposal for road improvements as part of the North 3 utility extension project during Wednesday&#8217;s Committee of the Whole meeting.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">The city said the funding would come from transportation funds, not from property owners.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">The proposed upgrades include 10-foot sidewalks on both sides of the road, driveway extensions, swale relocations, and bridge improvements.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">Right now, the city restores roads to about the same condition they were in before utility work begins.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">This plan would provide neighborhoods with more than just new water lines, potentially bringing road and sidewalk upgrades as well.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">Cape Coral leaders will also discuss requesting proposals for engineering and design work in the North 6 and future project areas.
