{"id":427957,"date":"2026-10-14T21:31:06","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T21:31:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/427957\/"},"modified":"2026-10-14T21:31:06","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T21:31:06","slug":"man-arrested-after-shooting-in-pompano-beach-leaves-1-injured-bso-say-nbc-6-south-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/427957\/","title":{"rendered":"Man arrested after shooting in Pompano Beach leaves 1 injured, BSO say \u2013 NBC 6 South Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nearly a week after a person was hurt in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/news\/local\/gunfire-leaves-1-hurt-strikes-windows-and-buildings-in-pompano-beach\/3870938\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/news\/local\/gunfire-leaves-1-hurt-strikes-windows-and-buildings-in-pompano-beach\/3870938\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">shooting in a Pompano Beach neighborhood<\/a>, a suspect was arrested on Wednesday, deputies said. <\/p>\n<p>Willie Cheatom III, 22, was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and discharging a firearm in public.  <\/p>\n<p>According to the Broward Sheriff&#8217;s Office, the incident happened on Thursday after 8 p.m. near the 200 block of Northwest 31st Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>At the scene, deputies found one person with &#8220;a superficial wound, and they were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.<\/p>\n<p>NBC6 cameras captured bullet holes in windows and buildings. <\/p>\n<p>A man said he was home with his wife when he heard gunshots and saw people running. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our neighbor right here, they got shot in the window. They got two little girls. I mean, they normally play in that specific window,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I mean, can you imagine&#8230; a bullet going through your glass?
