{"id":428103,"date":"2026-10-15T00:42:35","date_gmt":"2026-10-15T00:42:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/428103\/"},"modified":"2026-10-15T00:42:35","modified_gmt":"2026-10-15T00:42:35","slug":"very-purposeful-man-describes-disturbing-discovery-of-dog-submerged-underwater-in-coconut-grove-nbc-6-south-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/428103\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Very purposeful\u2019: Man describes disturbing discovery of dog submerged underwater in Coconut Grove \u2013 NBC 6 South Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man described the moments he encountered a dog that was submerged underwater in Coconut Grove as police investigate who is responsible.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Young was returning to the marina after being out on his boat when he spotted something in the water.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy first thought was, oh my goodness, someone&#8217;s dog fell off their boat and drowned,&#8221; Young said. &#8220;And I started looking closer, and I could see ropes, and I was like, oh my goodness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Young said he alerted the marina, and within about 20 minutes, staff had retrieved the dog.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/news\/local\/video-dog-drowned-coconut-grove-miami\/3872588\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Video shared online<\/a> appears to show the dog submerged in the water, tied to cinder blocks.<\/p>\n<p>Young believed the dog was a golden retriever, but no one in his boating group recognized it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was the worst thing I had seen in my life because the worst part was they tied the dog with its own leash and zip-tied it to the block,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It was a very purposeful thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Young said there is a group chat of about 40 people in the area, and no one recognized the dog.
