The first reconfigured plane is planned to enter service on 8 December between Boston and Fort Lauderdale.<\/p>\n<p>We designed BlueFirst to deliver a more accessible first-class experience that combines the thoughtful hospitality and service customers expect from JetBlue with exceptional value and comfort. We\u2019re excited that customers can now start making BlueFirst part of their travel plans.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Joanna Geraghty, chief executive officer, JetBlue<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The carrier plans to quickly expand the offering, with some 40 markets on sale now, reflecting network\/fleet planning\u2019s intent to bring routes online through April 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/paxex.aero\/what-to-expect-from-jetblues-bluefirst-offering\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">What to Expect from JetBlue\u2019s BlueFirst Offering<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inaugural flight (B6 1169\/8DEC) has the front cabin fully blocked\/booked.\u00a0Seats are available for sale on other days. In an interesting UX twist, the website will not show BlueFirst as sold out on cabins where it is offered for sale but fully booked.<\/p>\n<p>Putting the Squeeze on Economy Class<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Placing the seats on sale means the updated seat maps are now formally published. While we\u2019ve known that the regular economy class cabin will suffer as\u00a0a result of the reconfiguration that is now much more clearly visible.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"676\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/jetblue-a320-bluefirst-lopa-compare-1024x676.jpg\" alt=\"side-by-side comparison of JetBlue's A320 cabin with and without the BlueFirst seats on board.\" class=\"wp-image-26454 webpexpress-processed\"  \/>An extra row of seats behind the exit row is part of the trade-off made to add BlueFirst, making things tighter for everyone else on board. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Forward of the exit row the cabin still has nine rows, but three are now BlueFirst. Making up for that, an extra row is added behind the exit row, with the commensurate shrink in legroom throughout. The exit row layout does not change, but those seats are back to being flagged as Even More, after a few months without that label.<\/p>\n<p>BlueFirst Upgrades for Mosaic Members<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the sales launch <a href=\"https:\/\/jetblue.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">JetBlue<\/a>\u00a0also announced a shift in its Mosaic elite benefits, bringing upgrades into play. The company\u2019s Move to Mint certificates will convert to\u00a0Premium Upgrade certificates, enabling redemption for the BlueFirst cabin as well. Pricing remains variable, though there\u2019s at least reason to hope that BlueFirst redemptions will be less expensive than Mint.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company also indicated Mosaic members booked on non-Basic fares \u201cwill be eligible for complimentary space-available upgrades to BlueFirst before departure, subject to seat availability.\u201d\u00a0Details on that process and timing were not immediately available, though one portion of the\u00a0website showed it as opening 60\u00a0minutes prior to\u00a0departure. Clearly the goal is to sell the seats, not provide them as complimentary upgrades.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The full list of initial routes and expected launch dates is below:<\/p>\n<p
