FORT PIERCE \u2013 An 18-year-old man was arrested on Oct. 12 in connection with an August shooting on Florida Avenue in Fort Pierce.<\/p>\n
Trisco A. Adams, 18, of the 1000 block of Chipola Road, Fort Pierce was charged with three counts of attempted second-degree murder; eight counts of shooting or throwing a deadly missile; discharging a firearm in public; contributing to the delinquency or dependency of a child; resisting an officer without violence; criminal mischief over $200 and less than $1,000; and possession of a firearm after found to have committed a delinquent act.<\/p>\n
He was in the St. Lucie County Jail on a $906,000 bond as of Oct. 15, according to the jail web site.<\/p>\n
Officers went to a home on Florida Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 15 in response to a report of gunfire, according to an arrest affidavit.<\/p>\n
In addition to eight .40-caliber shell casings in the roadway in front of the home, several bullet holes were seen inside and outside the home, and a projectile was found inside, according to reports. The front window also was shattered.<\/p>\n
A man and woman were inside the home at the time, while the man\u2019s two sons and a friend were on the front porch, according to the arrest affidavit.<\/p>\n
According to witnesses, at least five people, ranging in ages from 15 to 18, were seen carrying handguns and rifles, getting out of a white SUV and then arguing with people at the home before shooting at them, according to an arrest affidavit.<\/p>\n
A warrant was subsequently issued for Adams, who was found on Oct. 12 at an apartment in the 500 block of North Tenth Street, Fort Pierce. When officers saw Adams, he ran to the back door, according to the arrest affidavit.<\/p>\n
An officer grabbed Adams by his sweatshirt as he opened the back door and both fell outside onto other officers who were waiting outside the back door, according to the arrest affidavit.<\/p>\n
