PENSACOLA, Fla. \u2013 The first ever road trip to face West Florida as a Division 1 school, and conference opponent, resulted in a 3-1 loss for Jacksonville Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The result pushed JU to 4-5-4 on the season and 2-2-2 in ASUN play. Jacksonville moves to 1-5-1 in road contests this campaign.<\/p>\n

The Argonauts jumped ahead early in the afternoon tilt, taking a 3-0 advantage at halftime after breaking the game open in the 16th\u00a0minute.<\/p>\n

Jacksonville got on the board in the second half via a Saki Sanno<\/a> goal, her third of the year. The sophomore Sanno is now second on the team in goals scored. She has scored a goal in two of her last three matches, all ASUN tilts.<\/p>\n

Sanno came on as a sub, taking three shots, leading the team with three shots on goal. Madelyn Radtke<\/a> also had three shots with a single chance on net. As a team, JU tallied 10 shots with five on target. The West Florida offense launched 17 shots and 12 shots on goal at netminder Taylor Gardner<\/a>. The junior Gardner tallied a career-high nine saves in her 90-minute effort.<\/p>\n

Gardner’s nine saves were the most by a Dolphin keeper in almost exactly a year, when former keeper Pia Bozic<\/a> saved nine shots in a draw against North Florida on Oct. 19, 2025. Gardner now has three ASUN games with five or more saves. She has a team-high 39 across the season which is tied for seventh in the conference.<\/p>\n

Jacksonville stays on the road \u2014 at least this time locally \u2014 for one more game as it travels to North Florida on Sunday, Oct. 18. The first edition of this season’s River City Rumble kicks off at 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
