LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12)  \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/cbs12.com\/topic\/Port%20St.%20Lucie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Port St. Lucie<\/a> community members had a chance to learn more about and comment on proposed safety changes to Prima Vista Boulevard during a county information session at the MidFlorida Credit Union Event Center Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal focuses on the stretch between Aroso Boulevard and U.S. 1. It would replace the center turn lane with a raised median and add landscaping designed to make the road feel narrower and encourage drivers to slow down.<\/p>\n<p>County officials say the changes are intended to improve safety, reduce crashes, and help slow traffic along the corridor.<\/p>\n<p>A majority of the community members spoke out against the plan, saying they don&#8217;t believe the changes would improve safety.<\/p>\n<p>County leaders said feedback from the meeting will help shape the project.<\/p>\n<p>See also: <a href=\"https:\/\/cbs12.com\/news\/local\/jupiter-woman-sues-doordash-alleges-delivery-driver-sexually-assaulted-her\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jupiter woman sues DoorDash, alleges delivery driver sexually assaulted her<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The proposal is in the early stages.
