(WITN) &#8211; The man Jacksonville police say died after he accidentally shot himself earlier this week was a Marine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/honoring-jordans-life-and-legacy-n4eaq\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/honoring-jordans-life-and-legacy-n4eaq\">A GoFundMe for Jordan Joines\u2019 family<\/a> says the 21-year-old was a proud member of the Marine Corps, enlisting straight out of high school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cHis passing has left a tremendous void in the hearts of his beautiful wife, Aaliyah, his family, his friends, and all those whose lives he touched,\u201d the fundraising page says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The shooting happened at 123-A Sanders Street Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Officers found Joines in the front yard with a gunshot wound to his head. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He accidentally shot himself while demonstrating the gun\u2019s mechanics to several people, according to police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Funeral and memorial service details for Joines will be released in the coming days, according to the fundraiser.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The department is still investigating.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WITN.
