watchful eye on Antetokounmpo<\/a>.<\/p>\n\u201cHe\u2019s always going to make the right pass for myself,\u201d the Heat\u2019s prized offseason acquisition said. \u201cWhenever I feel like I haven\u2019t touched the ball in two or three possessions, he\u2019s always going to check in with me and make sure I get a touch and be able to open it from the post or from the wing. It\u2019s fun playing with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mitchell also has proven more than willing to share the wealth.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that if we get the rebound, we can score anytime we get the rebound because we\u2019re one of the fastest teams and we\u2019ve got a lot of players who can make plays,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Which is why Mitchell wants to be out there, be a part of it, dictating the pace.<\/p>\n
So that meant a quick turnaround Wednesday night from taking six stitches above his right eye early in the third quarter, getting patched up, and playing on.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just love the game,\u201d the 6-foot, 200-pound guard said. \u201cAnd I just wanted to play. I just wanted to be out there. You kind of don\u2019t take these moments for granted. And I know if I can play, I\u2019m gonna go out there and play.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it wasn\u2019t really a hard decision for me. After they told me I got to shoot the free throws to stay in the game, I just ran out there and shot them.\u201d<\/p>\n
Then he got patched up, conducting his postgame media session with a significant bandage above the eye.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs he was going off,\u201d Spoelstra said of their interaction in the huddle following Mitchell\u2019s collision with Nets guard Keon Ellis, \u201che was like, \u2018This is just going to be a handful of stitches. I want to play. I want to get my minutes like everybody else was able to do\u2019 and we allowed him to do that. He still wanted to play in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe loves the game. He loves competing. He wants to get out there and compete in the games, not just the practices.
