A stalled frontal boundary is hanging over Florida<\/a>, bringing soggy, gusty conditions through the weekend for southern portions of the state.<\/p>\n Two cars wiped out onto the side of the road amidst heavy rain and slick roads in Boca Raton, Florida.<\/p>\n Meteorologists at the FOX Forecast Center<\/a> note that as high pressure<\/a> wedges behind a decaying front, a tight pressure gradient will hover over the peninsula, fueling strong easterly onshore winds gusting anywhere from 30 to 40 mph across the Atlantic Coast from Daytona Beach<\/a> down to Miami<\/a>-Dade.<\/p>\n HOW HIGH PRESSURE AND LOW PRESSURE DRIVE THE WEATHER<\/a><\/p>\n “The combination of persistent colliding winds<\/a> along the front and deep tropical moisture lifting north over the front will bring widespread waves of showers and downpours,” the FOX Forecast Center said.<\/p>\n Precipitation<\/a> totals will vary across South Florida, but a widespread 2 to 3 inches is expected across the Southeast through Monday.<\/p>\n This will limit outdoor<\/a> activities, as temperatures will hover in the mid-to-upper 80s in places like Miami<\/a>, Orlando<\/a>, Fort Lauderdale<\/a> and Boca Raton<\/a> as thunderstorms<\/a> and heavy rain create uncomfortable conditions.<\/p>\n A level 1 out of 4 flash flood threat is in effect on Saturday and Sunday, with Fort Lauderdale and Miami included.<\/p>\n HURRICANE ISAIAS DEATH TOLL RISES TO 6 IN FLORIDA AS STORM RECOVERY CONTINUES<\/a><\/p>\n Gusty onshore winds will produce choppy, dangerous waves along the coast, increasing the risk of rip currents<\/a>, high surf and minor beach<\/a> issues.<\/p>\nThis graphic shows the expected rainfall in South Florida this weekend.
