{"id":430518,"date":"2026-10-17T14:46:12","date_gmt":"2026-10-17T14:46:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/430518\/"},"modified":"2026-10-17T14:46:12","modified_gmt":"2026-10-17T14:46:12","slug":"university-of-tampa-president-dahlberg-is-stepping-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/430518\/","title":{"rendered":"University of Tampa president Dahlberg is stepping down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The president of the University of Tampa is resigning for personal reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Teresa Abi-Nader Dahlberg will step down at the end of the fall term, the school announced Friday.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from the private university says all other leadership positions are unchanged and the process for finding a new president is already underway.<\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"Image\" alt=\"Woman with short brown hair with her arms crossed and leaning against a brick building\"  width=\"880\" height=\"660\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1792248372_604_.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>    Teresa Abi-Nader Dahlberg<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Board of Trustees thanks President Dahlberg for her leadership, service, and dedication to the University of Tampa,\u201d the statement read. \u201cShe has brought energy, vision, and a commitment to student success to her presidency. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Her work to strengthen the University\u2019s strategic and financial foundation and engage our community in planning for its future will benefit UTampa in the years ahead. We appreciate her contributions and wish her and her family every happiness in their next chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>Dahlberg was named UTampa&#8217;s 11th president in December 2023, succeeding Ronald L. Vaughn.<\/p>\n<p>She formally took the position in June 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cServing as president of the University of Tampa has been an honor,\u201d Dahlberg said in the statement. \u201cI am grateful to all university stakeholders for their commitment to this remarkable university. I especially thank the administration and staff whose talent, dedication, and hard work made our accomplishments possible. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Together, we have built a strong foundation for UTampa\u2019s next chapter. As the University approaches its Centennial, I look forward to celebrating its continued success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dahlberg came from Texas Christian University, where she served as provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, as well as a professor of both computer science and engineering.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dahlberg previously held teaching and administrative positions at Winthrop University, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Cooper Union in New York City, and Syracuse University.<\/p>\n<p>A search for a new president is underway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The president of the University of Tampa is resigning for personal reasons.
