FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) – Investigators are on the lookout for a man caught on camera stealing an e-bike from a Fort Lauderdale home.<\/p>\n
The man stole from a family\u2019s car port in the middle of the afternoon, leaving those living there feeling \u201cvery violated. That\u2019s how I feel, very violated.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is where we live, this is where we can relax,\u201d said resident Paul Guerrero. \u201cAnd that\u2019s not relaxing. Not at all.\u201d<\/p>\n
Security footage shared with 7 News showed the suspect with a shirt on his head, walking down Southwest 29th Street around 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 16.<\/p>\n
\u201cRight in the middle of the day,\u201d Guerrero said. \u201cWe\u2019re all working.\u201d<\/p>\n
The covered man walked up to Guerrero\u2019s home and opened the gate.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe stands there staring for a moment, sizing everything up,\u201d said Guerrero.<\/p>\n
The suspect walked straight to where the household\u2019s e-bikes were parked.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have an alarm lock, so that way it\u2019ll let us know,\u201d Guerrero said. \u201cWell, someone came right up and grabbed one of the bikes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite the alarm, the man still went for one of the bikes, startling Guerrero\u2019s wife of 36 years, who was home at the time.<\/p>\n
His wife is audible in the security video, yelling, \u201cWhat are you doing? What are you doing?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cJust hearing her scream like that, it\u2019s just terrible,\u201d said Guerrero. \u201cIt really breaks my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n
The robber rode the bike away, leaving down the street.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe guy came in like he did and stood in that gate,\u201d Guerrero said. \u201cLooked on my porch. Alarm\u2019s going off, everything\u2019s going off and he just walked away.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fort Lauderdale police say they are investigating this felony crime.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just want the guy to be off the street,\u201d said Guerrero.<\/p>\n
Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to call the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.<\/p>\n
