WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 Florida residents are witnessing a bizarre consequence of the recent cold snap, iguanas falling from trees.<\/p>\n
Wildlife experts say the sudden drop in temperatures has stunned the cold-blooded reptiles, causing them to lose control of their muscles and, in many cases, tumble from their perches. While the sight may be alarming, officials stress that the iguanas are not dead \u2014 they’re temporarily paralyzed by the cold.<\/p>\n
The FWC advises residents not to touch or move the frozen iguanas. Interfering with them could cause stress or injury. Instead, officials recommend leaving the reptiles alone until they regain mobility and scurry off on their own.<\/p>\n
