Florida State<\/a> has sputtered this season and Miami has not lost a game. Both trends held true, although barely, as the Hurricanes needed two overtimes to survive another upset bid on a day filled with chaotic finishes and upsets.<\/p>\n

Miami quarterback<\/a> Darian Mensah threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns, the last of them a 3-yarder to Malachi Toney in the second overtime, and No. 3 Miami held on to beat archrival FSU 43-35 in a back-and-forth classic.<\/p>\n

Toney finished the night with 154 receiving yards and threw a 2-point conversion pass to Cooper Barkate. Hurricanes defensive back Bryce Fitzgerald sealed the win with an interception for the Hurricanes on the final play.<\/p>\n

Ashton Daniels threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns for FSU. Duce Robinson had a pair of touchdown catches late, including a 75-yarder that tied the game with less than three minutes left in regulation and a 20-yard score to open the first overtime.<\/p>\n

Starting with the 2023 Orange Bowl debacle against Georgia, the Seminoles have now lost 14 consecutive games away from Tallahassee and are 0-13 since 2017 in true road games against ranked teams.<\/p>\n
