A man accused of stealing a car was arrested following a chase that ended in a PIT maneuver by Florida Highway Patrol troopers in Lee County.<\/p>\n

According to FHP, at around 9:03 p.m. on Thursday, troopers were made aware of a stolen black Toyota Camry that was traveling northbound through Immokalee. Collier County deputies had attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped off, turning off the car’s headlights.<\/p>\n

Troopers located the car traveling west on SR-82 in the area of Bell Boulevard at 70 mph with its headlights on, FHP said. The driver then turned onto Bell Boulevard and accelerated away from troopers, hitting speeds of 100-115 mph.<\/p>\n

A PIT maneuver was performed by troopers in the area of Alabama Road, and the driver, identified as Jerome Malik Duvras, 29, was arrested, FHP said.<\/p>\n

Duvras faces charges of fleeing\/eluding at high speeds, reckless driving with damage to person or property, grand theft auto, operating a motor vehicle at speeds of over 100 mph and an out-of-county warrant.<\/p>\n
