(WFLA) \u2014 Crews contained a fire at the vacant Weinberg Village Jewish Community Center in Tampa on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, a bystander called 911 at 4:17 p.m., reporting smoke and flames coming from the roof of the building.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Firefighters arrived and quickly requested a second alarm because of the building&#8217;s size and potential fire load.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/https:\/\/media.zenfs.com\/en\/wfla_article_174\/c24c6fa9be321b0867b0961e34b8f324.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The incident was subsequently upgraded to a third alarm, and crews brought the fire under control within 90 minutes. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Facility staff told HCFR that the building had been vacant for about one year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The scene remained active Saturday evening as firefighters continued to work the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The cause of the fire was not immediately released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
