A 15-year-old girl was arrested and charged with a felony in Florida<\/a> after she was caught on camera attacking a police car with a shovel, according to authorities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Amy Chance was seen bashing a Port St. Lucie <\/a>Police patrol car on November 3 in body camera footage after officers responded to a home over a disturbance<\/a> that was caused by the teenager, police said on Sunday.<\/p>\n

But when officers arrived they witnessed Chance in the middle of the street with a metal shovel <\/a>in her hand that she allegedly slammed into the cop car, striking the hood several times.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The two male officers quickly hopped out of the vehicle and approached Chance, yelling at her to put the shovel down.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One of them was heard saying: ‘Are you kidding me?’ as he pulled out what appeared to be a Taser gun<\/a> and pointed it at the teen.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Chance immediately dropped the tool, walked away a bit then looked back at the officers seemingly shocked by their response.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Get on the f***ing ground,’ one of them told Chance as she turned around and placed her hands behind her back before the officer made her kneel on the pavement while he locked handcuffs on her.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She was\u00a0taken into custody without incident<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0charged with felony criminal mischief after causing more than $1,200 worth of damage to the car, authorities said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Once she put the shovel down, Chance appeared shocked about the officers’ response to her hitting the car\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Regardless of age, resorting to intentional damage of people or property in our city will result in an arrest,’ the police department said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The nature of the initial disturbance and why Chance decided to attack the police cruiser remain unknown.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail contacted the Port St. Lucie Police Department for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chance’s arrest comes just months after police fatally shot a shovel-wielding man outside an elementary school in California.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Anaheim Police Department received a call about the man,\u00a0Rudy Anthony Martinez II, standing outside of a home in the area holding a brick around 12.10pm on September 15.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police arrived at the scene half an hour later, but by then another call came in that the 36-year-old, who appeared to be homeless and under the influence of drugs, was near\u00a0John Marshall Elementary School.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The school employee who called in the spotting said Martinez was ‘just pacing around’ with a broken shovel and had been loitering in the area for about an hour.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He had first been in the parking lot of the school, and was later pacing along Falmouth Street, she explained.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As officers pulled up to the scene, Chance charged at the vehicle with the tool\u00a0<\/p>\n

The cops then got out of the car and demanded she put the shovel down as one of them was seen pointing what appeared to be a taser gun at the teenager\u00a0<\/p>\n

Just minutes later, an unidentified police officer saw the suspect using a crosswalk with the shovel slung over his shoulder.<\/p>\n

‘Oh s***,’ the cop could be heard saying in the dashcam video as he approached the suspect.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As soon as Martinez noticed the officer, he could be seen running toward the patrol car with a shovel raised over his head.<\/p>\n

Martinez then proceeded to strike the car several times, prompting the officer to get out.<\/p>\n

‘Sit down,’ he said as Martinez once again struck the vehicle. ‘Sit… you’re gonna get shot.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

At that point, body camera footage captured Martinez charging directly at the officer with his shovel raised – prompting the officer to fire at least four shots, striking the suspect, who fell to the ground on his back.\u00a0<\/p>\n
