AMHERST, Mass. \u2014 The Miami University soccer team fell in a 3-2 loss at Massachusetts Sunday. The loss came despite two goals from Millie Cook<\/a> in the 87th and 88th minutes. The RedHawks move to 7-6-3 (3-2-3 MAC) with the result. UMass is now 10-1-4 and remains undefeated in the conference (4-0-4).

\nHOW IT HAPPENED:\u00a0<\/p>\n


\n\tThe RedHawks started immediately on the attack in the 2nd minute. Devin McElroy<\/a> had a volley attempt from inside the box that was saved.
\n\tIn the 8th minute, a corner kick taken by Maris Jennings<\/a> found Jaden Sink<\/a>, but the header attempt was saved by a defender at the goal line.
\n\tDominique Popa<\/a> jumped into action in the 9th minute on a quick save to her right on a counterattack.
\n\tMorh\u00e9a Hoefen made a well-timed sliding tackle to prevent an open shot for UMass in the 18th minute.
\n\tPopa was called into action again in the 27th minute when she had to come out of her box to prevent a UMass breakaway score.
\n\tIn the 39th minute, Katie O’Malley<\/a> had a nice step-over and cutback, but her right-footed shot went wide right.
\n\tIn the last minute of the first half, O’Malley made an elusive double move on the left wing. She got a cross off that found the head of Caroline Mortonson<\/a>, but the header went wide left.
\n\tPopa made another great save in the 47th minute, preventing a close-range shot from finding the back of the net.
\n\tIn the 48th minute the RedHawks had three shots. The third, taken\u00a0by Gracie de Haro<\/a>, was saved.
\n\tMiami had a fluid offensive possession in the 49th minute. Cook played a through ball, crossed in by Averie Bierker<\/a> and a shot by McElroy, but it was blocked.
\n\tUMass took a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute on a free kick by Amelia Bloom.
\n\tCook made a clearance at the goal line to keep UMass from doubling their lead in the 59th minute.
\n\tIn the 65th minute, Popa made an incredible diving save, pushing the ball over the bar to deny the UMass attacker.
\n\tUMass added to their lead in the 71st minute off a converted penalty kick by Amelia Deren, 2-0.
\n\tThe RedHawks got on the board from a converted penalty kick by Cook in the 87th minute, 2-1.
\n\tUMass tallied another goal in the 87th minute on a penalty kick taken by Bloom, 3-1.
\n\tMiami answered back in the 88th minute, with a shot from Cook on the right wing that found the bottom left of the goal, assisted by Hoefen, 3-2.\u00a0
\n\tThe RedHawks were unable to find the equalizer in the closing minutes, finalizing a 3-2 result. <\/p>\n
