(WCTV) -U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders appeared in the capital city Sunday night at an event called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/10\/12\/senator-bernie-sanders-visiting-tallahassee-with-rep-angie-nixon-special-guest\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/10\/12\/senator-bernie-sanders-visiting-tallahassee-with-rep-angie-nixon-special-guest\/\">\u201cFighting Oligarchy.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The event took place at The Moon, with more than a thousand people turning out to hear from Sanders and special guest Angie Nixon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Sanders spoke about the upcoming election, calling it the \u201cmost important midterm election in modern history.\u201d He also discussed issues like affordability and healthcare.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-center\">More Tallahassee News<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cTrump\u2019s best friends, you see them every day in the papers, all the oligarchs at dinner with him, the wealthiest people in the world, he is working day and night for them, they are becoming unbelievably rich under Trump, and meanwhile 60% of the people in our country live paycheck to paycheck,\u201d Sanders said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Some attendees we spoke with say events like these are informative and help voters get to know the candidates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cLearn more about what\u2019s going on in the general political landscape, and it\u2019s never a bad thing to just get more information,\u201d one attendee said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Another attendee said, \u201cI\u2019m here to support people that are hopefully going to represent us, our generation and everyone else in America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A Republican National Committee spokesperson also sent a statement about Sunday night\u2019s event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cSocialist hacks Angie Nixon and Bernie Sanders are fighting to hike taxes, empty prisons, give mass amnesty to millions of criminal illegal aliens, and make taxpayers fund sex change surgeries.
