JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 Two men were critically wounded Monday morning in a shooting at the University Place Apartments in Arlington, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
JSO said officers were called just after 6:15 a.m. to 3285 University Blvd. North because of reports that someone had been shot. A woman who made the call said she heard six gunshots in her complex.<\/p>\n
They found a man in his early 30s with a gunshot wound to the neck, and he was rushed to the hospital by paramedics in critical condition.<\/p>\n
A second man in his mid-30s showed up at the hospital after a friend drove him there with a gunshot wound to the chest. He told police he was involved in the same shooting at the apartment complex.<\/p>\n
His injuries were also listed as critical.<\/p>\n
Investigators said they detained a man inside the apartment, but it\u2019s still early in the investigation, and they are working to learn what happened.<\/p>\n
They said it\u2019s unclear if the shooting was domestic-related, but it does not appear to involve gangs or groups.<\/p>\n
People who live in the area said they\u2019re noticing a trend in gun violence. Alan Dewesse said he\u2019s getting used to it. Another said he\u2019s concerned, but he\u2019s not going to move.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is where I live; I just hope it doesn\u2019t happen to me or someone I know,\u201d Arthur Resler said.<\/p>\n
Residents said they hope the cameras have footage that leads to an arrest.<\/p>\n
