FCSO Chief Deputy Joe Barile said the sheriff\u2019s Major Case Unit worked alongside the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division because Curtis was on active duty when the investigation started. \u201cShe conducted her investigation, which included going to El Paso, Texas, and conducting an interview,\u201d Barile said. \u201cAnd that\u2019s where she gained a confession.\u201dAccording to investigators, Curtis was 13 years old when he allegedly committed the crimes in Flagler County.
