{"id":433511,"date":"2026-10-21T00:28:15","date_gmt":"2026-10-21T00:28:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/433511\/"},"modified":"2026-10-21T00:28:15","modified_gmt":"2026-10-21T00:28:15","slug":"fisher-island-falls-to-third-most-expensive-zip-code","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/433511\/","title":{"rendered":"Fisher Island falls to third-most expensive ZIP code\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After garnering a No.1 ranking last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/southfloridaagentmagazine.com\/2025\/10\/17\/fisher-island-most-expensive-zip-code\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miami Beach\u2019s Fisher Island<\/a> was knocked down to third place in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertyshark.com\/Real-Estate-Reports\/most-expensive-zip-codes-in-the-us\/#full-top-100\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PropertyShark\u2019s annual ranking<\/a> of the 100 most expensive ZIP codes in the United States.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new champ is 94027 in Atherton, California, also known as the \u201cbillionaire capital of Silicon Valley,\u201d according to real estate research company PropertyShark. Home to former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, former Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg and Netscape cofounder and venture capitalist Marc Andreessen, the ZIP code set a new record by breaking the eight-digit barrier with a median sales price of almost $11 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>PropertyShark ranked U.S. ZIP codes based on registered residential transactions closed between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30. States with non-disclosure rules including Montana, Texas, Utah and Wyoming were excluded due to lack of data. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sagaponack\u2019s 11962 ZIP code in the Hamptons on New York\u2019s Long Island ranked No. 2 with a median sales price of $7.35 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Generally, coastal ZIP codes performed well, and Fisher Island was no exception. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing last year\u2019s unexpected turn at the very top, Fisher Island\u2019s 33109 returned to a more typical position following a 24% Y-o-Y price cut,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantaagentmagazine.com\/2026\/06\/29\/your-fifa-world-cup-ticket-could-cost-5-weeks-of-rent-in-atlanta\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PropertyShark<\/a> senior writer Eliza Theiss. \u201cStill, its $7.22 million median sale price was its second-highest yet and marked its ninth appearance among the country\u2019s 10 leading ZIP codes since 2016, where it typically ranks third or fourth.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The only other Florida ZIP code to make the list was Boca Grande\u2019s 33921 on Gasparilla Island, which made its third appearance in the top 100 at No. 36 with a median price of $3.3 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs always, the country\u2019s leading zip codes were characterized by coastal proximity,\u201d Theiss wrote. \u201cOf the 122 zips making up the top 100 (the result of multiple price ties), 72 are located within five miles of the coast and 39% are less than one mile away.
