JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 The Chick-fil-A on Philips Highway at JTB Boulevard is reopening its doors next week, more than four months after a kitchen fire forced the restaurant to close<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The restaurant is scheduled to reopen Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 10:30 a.m. Breakfast will not be served on opening day.<\/p>\n

The June 9 fire, which Jacksonville Fire and Rescue said appeared to be electrical, damaged the kitchen and drive-thru and forced a temporary closure with no set end date. <\/p>\n

Franchise owner and operator Ben Bryant said at the time that no one was inside the restaurant when the fire broke out, and there were no casualties.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is unfortunate, but luckily, no one was here, no casualties,\u201d Bryant said in June. \u201cBut it\u2019s definitely going to be a while before we open up for the community again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Four months in the making<\/p>\n

In a statement shared ahead of the reopening, the restaurant reflected on the months-long recovery.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe past several months have been a journey we never expected, filled with challenges, changes, and so many emotions,\u201d the statement read. \u201cBut through it all, one thing has never changed\u2026the incredible love and support of our team from our amazing community.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement added: \u201cIt\u2019s never just been about chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. It\u2019s about the people, the connections, the memories, and the community we\u2019re blessed to serve. We\u2019ve missed seeing your smiling faces, serving your families, and being part of your everyday moments. See you soon!\u201d<\/p>\n

Loyal customers felt the loss<\/p>\n

The closure hit regulars hard. When the fire happened in June, customer Bruce Brown told News4JAX he was devastated by the news.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just hurts my heart,\u201d Brown said. \u201cI usually come get my Chick-fil-A biscuit and my lemonade. I\u2019m heartbroken I can\u2019t get that. This is the closest Chick-fil-A where I am.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bryant said during the closure that fellow Chick-fil-A operators in the Jacksonville area helped take in displaced team members and product while repairs were underway.<\/p>\n
