The Cape Coral Police Department said a shooting that injured two people during a road rage incident is under investigation on Santa Barbara Boulevard on Thursday.<\/p>\n

According to the police, this happened near the 800 block of Santa Barbara Boulevard, and the injuries are non-life-threatening. One was from a bullet graze.<\/p>\n

Officers say the victims were driving a dark gray Hyundai when another driver shot at their vehicle. The victims drove to the 1025 Shopping Plaza and called 911, while the shooter fled the scene. <\/p>\n

Cape Coral police are asking anyone who may have information or who witnessed what happened to give them a call, as the suspected road rage driver is still on the loose while the search continues.<\/p>\n

Southbound lanes have been blocked off from Southwest 8th Street and Southeast 8th Street to Nicholas Parkway. Officers with flashlights have been looking on the road for evidence.<\/p>\n

There are more than a dozen police vehicles and forensics units in the plaza. Crime scene tape is up in the area.<\/p>\n

Toby Casten, who works at the shopping plaza, described the chaotic scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cCops. Literally in the parking lot running like, on foot, like, about 10, 20 of them,\u201d Casten said.<\/p>\n

He shared his reaction to the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s scary. That\u2019s a movie stuff, you know? That\u2019s. Too close for comfort,\u201d Casten said.<\/p>\n

Casten also expressed concern about the potential danger to others.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s bystanders, they could of, you know, stray bullet could have hit a kid, could have hit him. You know, a pregnant woman could have been so much worse,\u201d Casten said.<\/p>\n

The Cape Coral Police Department said both victims were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the driver to contact the police department.<\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully, they got them on camera or something, you know, because they can\u2019t just go around doing that. That\u2019s not right,\u201d Casten said. <\/p>\n
