The Seahawks remained undefeated in district play Friday night, securing the District 5A-11 title and an automatic berth in the state playoffs.<\/p>\n

Cape Coral secured its third consecutive district championship Friday night, defeating Charlotte 48-14 in a pivotal District 5A-11 showdown.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks entered the matchup with a perfect 4-0 district record, needing one more victory to claim the championship and secure an automatic berth in the state playoffs.<\/p>\n

Charlotte entered the night hoping to disrupt Cape Coral’s championship pursuit on its home field, but the Seahawks ultimately pulled away for a decisive victory.<\/p>\n

The Tarpons made their presence felt early, recovering a Cape Coral fumble to create an opportunity for their offense. However, the Seahawks’ defense responded with a crucial stop to keep Charlotte off the scoreboard.<\/p>\n

Cape Coral quarterback Derek Hooker later connected with TJ Schley on an impressive touchdown reception, but the play was called back because of a penalty.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks eventually broke through in the second quarter when Hooker found Nowl Devine Jr. for a touchdown, giving Cape Coral the first points of the game.<\/p>\n

Charlotte attempted to respond, but Cape Coral’s defense continued to apply pressure. Facing fourth down, Tarpons quarterback Jack Grimes was sacked, turning possession back over to the Seahawks.<\/p>\n

Hooker capitalized on the opportunity, connecting with Schley for another touchdown to extend Cape Coral’s lead to 14-0.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks continued to build their advantage, ultimately scoring 48 points while holding Charlotte to 14.<\/p>\n

The victory marked Cape Coral’s third consecutive district championship, continuing a run that included victories over Charlotte in each of the previous two seasons.<\/p>\n

Cape Coral previously defeated the Tarpons 28-11 in 2024 and 19-6 in 2025.<\/p>\n

With the district title secured, the Seahawks will now turn their attention toward the state playoffs as the regular season approaches its conclusion. <\/p>\n
