{"id":4379,"date":"2025-10-15T09:03:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T09:03:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/4379\/"},"modified":"2025-10-15T09:03:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T09:03:07","slug":"bret-prater-joins-florida-wildlife-corridor-foundation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/4379\/","title":{"rendered":"Bret Prater joins Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/floridawildlifecorridor.org\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation<\/a> has named Bret Prater as its new Director of Government Relations, adding a veteran of Florida\u2019s legislative and executive branches to its leadership team.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Prater brings more than 20 years of government and political experience to the role, where he will oversee the Corridor Foundation\u2019s advocacy and public policy work aimed at protecting and connecting the Florida Wildlife Corridor \u2014 a conservation network linking the state\u2019s natural and working lands from the Panhandle to the Everglades.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\u201cBret\u2019s deep understanding of Florida\u2019s political and policy landscape, particularly in agriculture and water conservation, makes him the ideal leader to advance the vision of a permanently connected Florida Wildlife Corridor,\u201d said Mallory Dimmitt, CEO of the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\u201cHis proven success navigating Florida\u2019s political and government landscape will be invaluable as we work to keep Florida wild. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Prater joins the organization from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), where he served as Assistant Director of Agricultural Water Policy. In that position, he helped implement agricultural Best Management Practices and coordinated with producers, state agencies and water management districts on statewide water policy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allegiant360.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-678805 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Sunburn-Ad-728x90-1-e1718033295481.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">\u201cFrom the beaches to the backwoods, Florida\u2019s nature is a part of our everyday lives and our weekend escapes. I look forward to applying my experience to ensure these vital working and natural landscapes are conserved and well-managed for generations to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Before his tenure at FDACS, Prater held senior roles in both state and federal government. He managed U.S. Rep. Neal Dunn\u2019s first successful congressional campaign in 2016 and later served as Dunn\u2019s Deputy Chief of Staff, focusing on federal strategy and outreach.
