DAYTON \u2014 Democrats rallied with voters in the Miami Valley. <\/p>\n

Democrats and republicans are bringing in big names to Ohio for a final push to get voters motivated and to the polls. <\/p>\n

Tonight it was Democrats\u2019 turn. <\/p>\n

Later this week, President Donald Trump and republicans. <\/p>\n

Both parties are also pumping lots of resources into the Buckeye State. <\/p>\n

U.S. Senate candidate Sherrod Brown and Gubernatorial candidate Dr. Amy Acton rallied with their party and EGOT winner John Legend. <\/p>\n

\u201cIn eight days, the nation will be watching Ohio. And when the nation sees us this time, it won\u2019t be about some poisonous slander hurled into the headlines,\u201d Legend said. <\/p>\n

Legend, a Springfield native, talked about the ongoing controversy on Haitian immigrants in Clark County. <\/p>\n

Nearly every speaker called out Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivkey Ramaswamy\u2019s ad featuring Acton\u2019s estranged mother, including Acton herself. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou probably have been hearing by now that I had a pretty rough childhood growing up,\u201d Acton said. \u201cNow my opponent has chosen to exploit intentionally this story in a desperate attempt to save his struggling campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n

From ads to affordability, people heard from candidates on the topics they said were important to them. <\/p>\n

Patty Stricker said her vote is bigger than herself; she\u2019s thinking about those in need. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re struggling right now in the programs that money was allotted for, for those things that people need; that money\u2019s been taken away and used for other things,\u201d Stricker said. <\/p>\n

People talked about the rising cost of groceries, utilities and health care. <\/p>\n

Early voting ends in Ohio Sunday. <\/p>\n
