FORT MYERS, FL \u2014 A Veterans Day 5K race is shutting down one of the area’s major bridges for a few hours in November.<\/p>\n

The Midpoint Madness Veterans Day 5K Run\/Walk will close the Midpoint Bridge from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, according to a press release from the Lee County Government.<\/p>\n

Drivers should plan to use the Cape Coral Bridge or the U.S. 41 and Business 41 bridges as alternate routes during that time.<\/p>\n

The Lee County Department of Transportation<\/a> will put up message boards starting Monday, Nov. 2 to give motorists a heads up about the closure, according to the release.<\/p>\n

The race kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with pre- and post-race activities at Royal Palm Square at the base of the Midpoint Bridge, located at 1400 Colonial Blvd.<\/a> in Fort Myers.<\/p>\n
