FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A late-night tip sparked a multi-agency investigation that ended with deputies rescuing a 15-year-old girl from a hotel room and arresting a 26-year-old man accused of multiple sex crimes. <\/p>\n
The St. Lucie County Sheriff\u2019s Office (SLCSO) said that on November 10, around 8:15 p.m., deputies responded to the Roadway Inn on 7050 Okeechobee Road after receiving anonymous information that a man was staying there with a 15-year-old girl from Lakeland. Inside a hotel room, deputies found the teen with John Kyle Ferber, 26, of Fort Pierce.<\/p>\n
Detectives learned Ferber allegedly stole his sister\u2019s vehicle two days earlier and drove to Lakeland to pick up the victim. SLCSO said the investigation quickly expanded into a coordinated effort involving SLCSO, Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Lakeland Police Department, DCF, and the Child Protection Team.<\/p>\n
