It appears former Miami city commissioner Frank Carollo will be in next month’s runoff for a seat on the commission following a judge’s ruling.<\/p>\n
Last Tuesday, Miami voters passed a resolution that limits commissioners to a maximum of two terms, which amounts to eight years.<\/p>\n
Frank Carollo, who is District 3 Commissioner Joe Carollo’s brother, ran to replace his brother, who was term-limited.<\/p>\n
He came in first in the Nov. 4 election but didn’t win a majority, meaning he and the second top vote getter go into a runoff.<\/p>\n
Several Miami voters filed a lawsuit looking to enforce the new term limit measure and prevent Carollo from participating in the runoff, since he’s already served eight years as a commissioner.<\/p>\n
