TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee teen accused of opening fire during FAMU\u2019s Homecoming weekend<\/a> will remain behind bars until his trial, according to a court order signed Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Anthony Rivers III, 15, is facing 11 counts of attempted murder<\/a>. He\u2019s accused of shooting in the middle of a crowd gathered on Perry Street after Saturday\u2019s game. Rivers is being tried as an adult. <\/p>\n

Rivers made his first court appearance on Wednesday. The judge denied him a bond and set a pre-trial detention hearing for 9 a.m. Friday.<\/p>\n

State Attorney Jack Campbell was expected to argue Rivers should remain behind bars until trial, but late Thursday that hearing was cancelled as Campbell and Rivers\u2019 attorney, Mutaqee Akbar, agreed the teen will remain jailed until trial. <\/p>\n

Gunshots rang out just before 8 Saturday night near Bragg Memorial Stadium as crowds strolled along Perry Street, which was lined with food vendors and merchandise tents.<\/p>\n

Witnesses describe chaos as people ran. A grandmother was hurt while trying to flee. Eleven others were shot, including six young people under the age of 18. The youngest was 11 years old, Tallahassee\u2019s Police Chief said at a briefing later that night.<\/p>\n

The court order ensuring Rivers will remain in jail came just hours before a vigil planned for the victims at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.<\/p>\n
