ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. \u2014 The Florida Department of Transportation will host a public meetings on proposed median modifications on State Road 16 at Green Acres Road.<\/p>\n
The project proposes improvements intended to enhance safety and traffic flow for motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists and other users.<\/p>\n
FDOT\u2019s proposal would require the developer to build a directional median at the Green Acres Road entrance intersection with State Road 16.<\/p>\n
Under the configuration, westbound drivers on State Road 16 would be able to turn left onto Green Acres Road. Drivers exiting Green Acres Road would be restricted to right turns onto State Road 16. <\/p>\n
A U-turn opportunity would be available approximately 500 feet east at the intersection of State Road 16 and Harvest Lane, FDOT officials said in a news release.<\/p>\n
The proposed modifications are tied to a permit request from Southeast Investments Inc. to develop nearby properties for commercial use. <\/p>\n
The improvements are intended to enhance safety, manage access and support traffic operations along the State Road 16 corridor.<\/p>\n
Construction of the proposed improvements would be fully funded by the developer at no cost to taxpayers.<\/p>\n
A virtual public meeting to discuss the plan will be held Monday, November 2, with an open house from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., followed by a presentation and public comment period at 5:30 p.m. <\/p>\n
