The spooky evening even survived wet weather that loomed throughout the day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Good thing it didn\u2019t rain, as Islanders dressed their homes in macabre and thoughtful ways (and some out of cardboard). One Key Biscayner, Ali Khouri, gathered her friends to orchestrate an \u201cinsane clown posse\u201d experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe started last Sunday,\u201d said Khouri, gesturing to the elaborate homemade set-up. \u201c[We did this] for the community to enjoy Halloween just as much as we do.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trick-or-treaters tried their luck and spun the wheel of \u201ctrick or treat.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hidden behind a tent, clowns sprayed water on the unlucky ones that landed on \u201ctrick.\u201d But even the tricks came with candy prizes afterwards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHalloween on Key Biscayne is the island at its best,\u201d wrote Belen Estacio to the Independent.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Estacio and her family experienced their first Halloween on the island with their daughter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe couldn\u2019t make it a block without bumping into a friend, a neighbor, or a very small superhero. It\u2019s a sweet reminder of why we love calling this place home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And in classic Key Biscayne fashion, decorated golf carts drove down the crowded streets. One golf cart adorned with \u201cAI\u201d-lettered LED lights gave away robot figurines, a fluorescent sign reading \u201cHang in there, it gets worse!\u201d posted on the back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  Never miss a story! Sign up for our FREE newsletter<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Giant skeletons and monster inflatables towered over front yards, green and purple lights flickering stronger as sunlight slipped into dusk.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One Key Biscayne resident laughed in conversation, remarking he saw a new take on \u201chelicopter parent\u201d: someone dressed as a slinky, the spiraled wires leashing the child to her side.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dogs of all sizes and shapes shared in the celebration as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHis name is Mulder, like the X-Men,\u201d introduced the parent of a pooch dressed as Superdog.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If it\u2019s one thing Key Biscayners are good at, it\u2019s going above and beyond for any kind of celebration.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"m-a-box-avatar-url\" href=\"https:\/\/kbindependent.org\/author\/bianca-sproul\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/1793650813_627_IMG_5226-150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-150x150 size-150x150\" alt=\"\" itemprop=\"image\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bianca Sproul is a Cuban-American freelance writer and artist from Miami, FL.
