High waters driven by stormy weather conditions in Brevard County forced Brightline to suspend its passenger service between West Palm Beach and Orlando, the Miami-based railroad said Monday.<\/p>\n

The higher-speed rail line\u2019s South Florida service is unaffected as all trains serving West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura and Miami are running as scheduled.<\/p>\n

The railroad is aiming for a 2 p.m. resumption of the Orlando service on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Brightline said \u201chigh water conditions<\/a> impacting the rail corridor in Brevard County\u201d on Florida\u2019s Space Coast triggered the temporary halt of service.<\/p>\n

Management advised customers to monitor GoBrightline.com<\/a>, the Brightline app and social media channels for\u00a0 service updates.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe safety of our guests, teammates and the communities we serve remains our highest priority,\u201d the company said in a news release. \u201cMaintenance personnel are on scene, and train service will resume when conditions allow safe movement through the area.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brightline added that rail infrastructure teams are monitoring conditions in coordination with Florida East Coast Railway, which owns the corridor, and Brevard County Emergency Management.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce water levels recede, all tracks, signals and crossings in the affected area will be thoroughly inspected before passenger service resumes.\u201d Brightline said.<\/p>\n

Affected customers with reservations are being contacted directly regarding their travel options.<\/p>\n
